Rhonda's Story

Please tell us about your journey to StayWell, what led you to us, where does your story begin?

"In June of 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it was an incredibly scary time. There were so many unknowns and I had a lot of questions about what the future would hold. From the very beginning of my journey, the doctors and nurses were kind, patient, and understanding, which helped ease some of the anxiety. As my treatment plan took shape, my husband and I were relieved to find that everything was arranged to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.”

Where did you have to relocate from? How was the journey from home to Toronto?

“I had to relocate from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, which is about a four-hour flight to Toronto. The journey itself went very smoothly, and everything was well-organized. I couldn’t have asked for a better setup — it made the travel experience much less stressful during such a challenging time.”

What were the things you found difficult? How did StayWell help?

"Thankfully, I didn’t encounter any major challenges because everything was thoroughly explained to me before I flew to Toronto. StayWell provided clear instructions and gave me contacts to reach out to if I had any questions or concerns along the way. Having that kind of support in place made the entire process much easier and more manageable.”

What were the positive aspects of your stay?

“StayWell made sure we stayed close to the hospital, which was such a relief. Everything was explained to us well in advance of our check-in date and I felt fully supported throughout the entire process. I couldn’t have asked for better treatment. Please continue the incredible work you’re doing — it made an immense difference during one of the most stressful times of my life.”

Would you recommend StayWell to other patients in need of access to medical care in Toronto?

"Yes."
